When will Kol Aliyah be available?
We’re getting ready to launch on the App Store and Google Play. Ask to be notified and we’ll write to you once, when it’s out.
Which phones does it work on?
iPhone and Android phones.
Does it work with our family’s tradition?
Yes. Kol Aliyah learns from your tutor’s own recording, so it works with whatever your tutor chants: Sephardic, Ashkenazi, Libyan or Tripolitan, Persian, Kurdish, Ethiopian, Yemenite and every other tradition. You can also start with a built-in reader.
How does it know what my son will read?
Enter the bar mitzvah date and where it will be. The weekly readings in Israel and abroad can differ, so the place matters. Kol Aliyah finds the portion, the aliyot and the exact verses for that day.
Do we need a tutor?
A tutor’s voice note lets your son learn his tutor’s exact melody. Without one, start with a built-in reader.
What does it cost?
Kol Aliyah is free to download. The whole setup and the first two sentences of your reading are free. After that, the family subscribes, monthly or yearly, for the months of preparation, and can cancel once the bar mitzvah has passed.
Prices will be announced at launch. Subscriptions are managed, and can be cancelled at any time, in your App Store or Google Play account.
Does it work without an internet connection?
Yes. Once it’s set up, practice works offline.
What happens to my son’s recordings?
When he records himself practicing, the recording stays on his device. The app doesn’t upload it. See the privacy policy for the full picture.
